Arizona Tax Credits 2024
Arizona provides three separate tax credits for individuals who make contributions to charitable organizations and/or AZ public schools. Credit eligible contributions made on or before April 15, 2025 are considered to have been made on the last day of 2023.
Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCO) (Form 321)
Qualifying Charitable Organizations provide immediate basic needs to residents of Arizona who receive temporary assistance for needy families (TANF) benefits, are low-income residents of Arizona, or are individuals who have a chronic illness or physical disability. Max Tax Credit 2024: Filing Status Single-$470; Married/Filing Joint-$938
Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations (QFCO) (Form 352)
Qualifying Foster Care Charitable Organizations provide immediate basic needs to at least 200 qualifying individuals in the foster care system. See list of qualifying QFCO’s here.
Max Tax Credit 2024: Filing Status Single-$587; Married/Filing Joint-$1,173
Public Schools Tax Credit (Form 322)
The public schools tax credit can be claimed by making contributions or paying fees directly to a public school in this state for support of eligible activities, programs or purposes as defined by statute. See list of qualifying Public Schools here.
Max Tax Credit 2024: Filing Status Single-$200; Married/Filing Joint-$400
Additional credits are available for qualified private school tuition for individuals and S-Corp shareholders. See Private School Tuition Tax Credit for details.
Arizona tax credits are not refundable. This means that you will only receive a benefit to the extent that you have an Arizona State tax liability.
